The Grand LA

Epic Gehry in Epic LA

The Grand LA promises a new icon for Downtown Los Angeles, an ambitious multi-function development at the epicenter of the already iconic Disney Concert Hall, The Broad Museum, the Colburn School of Music, and the Museum of Contemporary Art. It will include over 70,000 sf of curated dining experiences, 400 new luxury residences, and LA’s first Equinox Hotel.

The challenge for Red Leaf was not in making the architecture look exciting but rather it was focusing our efforts on bringing the excitement of LA lifestyle onto our site. From custom built retail environs to the perfect mix of entourage, we drew on our wealth of expertise to create a vibrant atmosphere able to complement the dynamism of Gehry Partners’ design.

Site Photography in the Heart of Downtown LA

This site is in one of the most exciting locations in Los Angeles with stunning adjacencies to a vibrant Arts area, downtown towers density, and all set within a stunning urban backdrop beyond. We simply took it upon ourselves to do as we always do – capture every breathtaking detail so the viewer feels like they are there…rather than just provide another landmark to point at.

Retail Life

As with all our retail projects, our process started with a conversation with the client about what their goals are with the images: who do they want to engage and what kind of lifestyle would they like to communicate at this development. From that conversation, we understood that this is a singularly unique retail experience, centered around feature dining and social experiences, and with further pedestrian retail frontages on South Grand Avenue.

People Matter

Making place is in the details. We like to bring the specifics of a place to bear every opportunity we can find. At The Grand, as often the case, this includes guiding the team through custom photoshoots to ace look-and-feel, demographics, activity, and all the other check-boxes.
